Teamsters 855 are thrilled to announce our very 1st winner of the prestigious Robert J. Watson National Bursary – Kristina McGrath (daughter of Teamster Construction Divison member, Gerard and Roxanne McGrath)!
The R.J.W Bursary is a $2,000 award offered annually through the General Presidents’ Maintenance Committee / National Maintenance Council, an alliance of International Building Trades Unions that negotiates and administers Labour Agreements tailored for maintenance work at industrial plants in Canada.
The celebration will continue in 2021 as Kristina was recently notified that she is a successful recipient and will be awarded a secondary scholarship of $1,000 with TradesNL!
We wish Kristina all the best in her academic studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador as she works towards her degree in the field of Primary Elementary Education. Miss. McGrath’s words of encouragement to future applicants are – “take a chance, your hard work will pay off!”
