On January 27th, 2021 approximately 12:30pm, a locked out Salesperson with Hickman Chrysler Dodge Jeep (Peet St, St. John’s, NL) was stuck by a customer’s vehicle as the customer crossed the picket line. Thankfully, the side mirror of the pick-up truck folded in, resulting in no injuries; however, the union member was shook-up as a result of the driver’s actions. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary were notified and arrived on site.
Teamsters Local 855 is STRESSING that SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT at this time.
We have been locked-out and are simply exercising our right to a LEGAL, PEACEFUL and SAFE picket line. We ask everyone to respect our picket line and cannot stress enough the importance of patience, safety, and understanding from the general public during this ongoing labour dispute.
