(St. John’s NL, February 09, 2020) Teamsters Local 855 today officially announced the results of December’s election of officers for the 2020-2025 term.
In making the announcement, Richard Gill, Business manager and re-elected president of Teamsters Local 855 welcomed everyone to the new board. The other newly elected or re-elected board members include Ms. Connie Fewer as Vice President; Mr. Keith Hollahan as Secretary Treasurer; Ms. Patricia Knight as Recording Secretary, and Roger Spracklin, Don Payne and Mike Oliver as Trustees.
“I’d like to extend my thanks to each of them for standing for election,” Mr. Gill said. He also extended thanks to the people who stood but were not elected. “And last, but certainly not least, I want to extend a sincere thank you to all the members who exercised their democratic right by casting ballots,” he said.
The new Vice President, Connie Fewer added, “The next five years offer some exciting opportunities to advance the rights of members new and existing across all the industries Teamsters Local 855 represents, such as automotive, construction, emergency medical services, fishery observation, and transport.”
Mr. Gill said that he is looking forward to working with the new board to serve the members. “Our primary goal will be continuing the important work of strengthening the voice of new and current members of Local 855,” he said. “With a strong and united voice we will seek better wages and working conditions, comprehensive health care, and job security for workers now and in their retirement.”
