WHEREAS the Canada Industrial Relations Board (the Board), by order no. 11563-U dated November 27, 2020, certified the Transport and Allied Workers Union, Local 855, affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters as the bargaining agent for a unit of employees of PAL Airlines Ltd. comprising:
“all cargo agents, ramp attendants and commissary agents employed by PAL Airlines Ltd. working in or out of RCAF Road, Hangar #4, St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, A1A 5B5, excluding the ramp attendant supervisor, the cargo supervisor and the cargo manager, and those above these ranks.”
AND WHEREAS the Board has received and application from the applicant, pursuant to section 18 of the Canada Labour Code (the Code), seeking to amend the said order by including the cargo agents and ramp attendants working in and out of Deer Lake Regional Airport in the bargaining unit description;
AND WHEREAS the employer is not opposed to this application;
AND WHEREAS, following investigation of the application and consideration of the submissions of the parties concerned, the Board is satisfied that the requirements of the Code have been met and has determined that it is appropriate to grant the application.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Canada Industrial Relations Board hereby declares that the Transport and Allied Workers Union, Local 855, affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters is the bargaining agent for a bargaining unit comprising:
“all cargo agents, ramp attendants and commissary agents employed by PAL Airlines Ltd. working in or out of: RCAF Road, Hangar #4, St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, A1A 5B5; and Deer Lake Regional Airport, 1 Airport Road, Suite 1, Deer Lake, Newfoundland and Labrador; excluding the ramp attendant supervisor, the cargo supervisor and the cargo manager, and those above these ranks.”
