Our Affiliations
Teamsters Union Local 855 is an active and effective union that appreciates the strength of teamwork. We have a strong relationship with pro-labour organizations in the province, the region and the country. Through these relationships, we are better able to serve you and take a leadership role to drive change in labour law and government policy. We have strong representation in the province, in the region, and in the country. Together we are working with our brothers and sisters across the country to drive positive change for workers in this province.
CBTU (Canadian Building Trades Union)
CBTU represents more than 500,000 construction workers in Canada. Members, come from 14 international unions. They work in 60 different trades and occupations, generating 14% of Canada’s GDP. Their mission is to improve their working conditions and quality of life for workers in the building, construction, fabrication and maintenance industries.
Helmets to Hardhats
Helmets to Hardhats (H2H) Canada is a registered not for profit organization providing opportunities in the construction and related industries for serving, transitioning and former military. Helmets to Hardhats is the leading construction industry gateway for the men and women who have served in Canada’s military.
H2H works with the balanced community of Building Trades Unions and Employers to ensure registrants receive only the best industry wages & benefits. H2H is recognized as a leading service provider by Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans Affairs Canada, and Canada’s 14 Building Trade Unions along with leading industry Business Owners.
IBT (International Brotherhood of Teamsters)
Founded in 1903, the Teamsters mission is to organize and educate workers towards a higher standard of living. There are currently 1.4 million members under 21 Industrial Divisions that include virtually every occupation imaginable, both professional and non professional, private sector and public sector.

Trades NL (Trades of Newfoundland and Labrador)
Building Trades of Newfoundland and Labrador promotes and coordinates the interests of 16 building and construction trades unions and their international affiliates in this province. Their mission on behalf of the thousands of affiliated tradespeople is to ensure all members have the highest levels of training necessary for a safe and productive career in the Newfoundland and Labrador Building and Construction industry.
