Teamsters Canada Member Scholarship
The Teamsters Canada Member Scholarship was specifically created for eligible members who wish to continue their education in their current field or expand into a different industry. Our scholarships are meant to help our members afford tuition for post-secondary institutions and certificate programs. There are four $2,500 scholarships available and deadline is set for October 31, 2024.

ACTIMS Women In Trades Awards/Bursaries Program
The Women In Trades Awards/Bursaries Program was created to recognize women who are members of the Canadian Building Trades, and to bring awareness of employment opportunities for women in the skilled trades. There are 3 awards available at $1,500 each. All applications must be submitted between February 1st – April 30th, 2022.

Cheryl Johnson ITWC Scholarship Program
The International Teamster Women’s Caucus (ITWC) awards two $500 scholarships annually to deserving high school seniors based on academics. The scholarship is open to the children of eligible active or retired Teamster members. The deadline to apply is May 1st, 2024.

Robert J Watson National Bursary (Construction Division)
The Bursary is a $2,000 award offered annually through the General Presidents’ Maintenance Committee / National Maintenance Council, an alliance of International Building Trades Unions that negotiates and administers Labour Agreements tailored for maintenance work at industrial plants in Canada. The deadline to apply is October 15, 2024.

James R. Hoffa Scholarships
The James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund was created to help the sons, daughters or financial dependents of eligible Teamster members to assist with professional or post-secondary tuition. Students in their last year of high school must register by March 31st to be eligible for this Scholarship which awards $1,000 to $10,000 USD.
The next deadline to apply for scholarships is November 2024.

Trades NL Scholarship (Construction Division)
Trades NL understands that education is important to our members and their families, and awards ten $1,000 university/trade Scholarships to financial dependent enrolled full-time at a recognized post-secondary institution. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2024.
Online Scholarship Application Process
The process for submitting an Application for a Scholarship is straightforward and your Teamsters Local can help:
- Download and complete the Scholarship Application;
- Submit the completed Application to Local 855 for review and approval. The Application can then be submitted in one of two ways, depending on timelines and the specific Scholarship you are applying for: Either
- You get the approved Application back from us and you forward it to the appropriate organization; OR
- We submit the Application to the appropriate organization on your behalf.
