The theme for Paramedic Services Week 2020 is Pandemic: Paramedics on the Front Line and demonstrates the important role that paramedics play on the front lines of the healthcare system during a pandemic.
Reddit contributor, SickCambos, coined the phrase “Not all heroes wear capes” in 2015 and since that time it has been used to describe ordinary people who perform extraordinary acts.
This year’s theme recognizes the extraordinary contribution you are making every day and especially during this Pandemic. Society is doing its best to distance and isolate themselves to reduce the risk of this disease but you, most time the first point of contact with medical help, continue to run towards it so that the people who need your help can be assured that help will be there.
Your capes may have been repurposed into masks, but they stand as a strong symbol of the commitment you make every day.
Your Local wishes to take advantage of Paramedic Services Week to THANK YOU for your contribution to the people of our Province.
Paramedic Chiefs of Canada have designated a different theme for each day of Paramedic Services Week, please visit the link below for more information: https://www.paramedicchiefs.ca/paramedic-services-week-2020/
