RE: Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Information and Checklist for COVID-19
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Teamsters Health Care Division represents more than 50,000 workers caring for children, families, elderly and veterans in various roles and workplaces at local, national and international levels. Historically, our Sisters and Brothers working in health care have encountered numerous challenges over the decades, in particular nurses during World War II. We applaud them for their bravery and thank them for their continued service.
Our Teamsters Health Care Division has recently prepared an “Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Information and Checklist for COVID-19”. The document contains information we feel will benefit many workers and employers, ranging from employee protections in the workplace, sporadic response measures, personal protective equipment, etc. To view the list please visit: https://teamster.org/sites/default/files/ibt_safety_and_health_-_coronavirus_info_and_checklist_ems.pdf#overlay-context=
NOTE: The above list in no way supersedes any policy or procedure identified by either your employer or regional health authorities, and is intended as additional information which may be useful given the recent events.
Our union has been tested before, and our spirit – while dampened during these difficult days – remains strong! In the past, our experiences may have been radically different from those present today, but one consistent and fundamental lesson shines through and that is, we must care for and have faith in each other. If we do, we will emerge stronger together.
Take care of yourself and each other,
Richard Gill
President / Business Manager – Teamsters Union Local 855
