TO: ALL MEMBERS OF TEAMSTERS LOCAL 855 (OTHER THAN CONSTRUCTION DIVISION)
RE: OUT-OF-WORK UNION DUES
First and foremost, I hope that you are all keeping healthy, safe and practicing “social distancing”.
During these unprecedented times with the outbreak of COVID-19, I realize that a lot of you have been laid off from your regular place of employment and Union Dues will not be submitted on your behalf.
I wish to inform you that you have the option to Self-Pay your Out-of-Work Dues at $20.00 per month or request a Withdrawal Card (waive your dues) until such time our province has been deemed safe to return to work by the Chief Medical Officer of Newfoundland and Labrador and you will again return to your place of employment. For more information on Withdrawal Cards, please visit our website: https://teamsters855.ca/members/withdrawal-cards-faq/
Once you have returned to work, your employer will deduct monthly dues from you and remit on your behalf, as per usual.
I would also like for you to share this information with your colleagues as there are some who may not have access to a computer and would be unaware of this Waiver.
If you wish to avail of this Withdrawal Card, please forward via email or regular mail a “Note” indicating that you are requesting a Withdrawal Card until your return to work with this Union; please indicate your Name and Address on this Waiver Request.
Should you wish to request a Withdrawal Card, please send written notification indicating:
YES, I wish to request a Withdrawal Card
OR
NO, I wish to continue paying Out-of-Work dues (if you are paying, please forward said dues in the form of cheque or money order to: Teamsters Local 855, 70 Mews Place, St. John’s, NL, A1B 4M3).
If you require further information or clarification, please do not hesitate to email us at email@teamstersL855.com or leave a message on our phone, as they are being monitored daily, 709-579-5706, Ext 201 or 202.
In Solidarity,
Richard Gill
President / Business Manager
